On August 23rd 2015, a girl named Jasleen Kaur posted a picture of a man and made an accusation of sexual harassment. Now we know that it is tough for many women to walk on the streets, especially in India. We hear about many incidents and we should pay attention to this issue.
But we also believe in thinking logically and that means, a sane person---instead of calling Jasleen Kaur a victim---would call her an alleged victim.
After all, the picture just showed him sitting on his motorcycle. There was no way to truly find out if the accusation was real or not if you just took her words and the picture into account. We simply didn't know so we can't pass judgments.
So that means Jasleen Kaur became an alleged victim and Sarabjeet Singh became an alleged sexual harasser. Right?
WRONG! At least this is what some "journalists" and media "professionals" are trying to teach us.
Soon after that Facebook post, the media called Sarabjeet many names including pervert, molester, lout, etc. On the other hand Jasleen was declared a braveheart. There was a cash reward for her (alleged) bravery.
